Meet our Board of Directors

Our Board are experienced professionals, generously sharing their skills and expertise in compliance, governance, finance and strategy, helping us fulfil our mission and purpose to build Healthy Men, Healthy Masculinities, Healthy Communities.

Nancy Campisi

Qualifications: BSc, MLLP, GAICD

Nancy is an experienced leader with extensive experience in providing legal and corporate governance advice both in house and in private practice for corporate and NFP clients. Nancy’s expertise is in commercial law, particularly in intellectual property law and privacy. Nancy also has extensive experience working with boards as company secretary.

Prior to law, Nancy had a career in the chemical industry where she provided advice on quality management systems and ultimately was the State Manager for the company’s Sydney manufacturing site.

Nancy is passionate about improving workplace cultures, mental health and wellbeing and has been a wellbeing advocate in her workplaces.

Andrew D’Addona

Qualifications: 

Andrew joined the Advisory Board in 2019, and became a director of the Board and Chair of the Finance Committee in 2022. In 2024 he was appointed Deputy Chair of the Men’s Table Board.

Andrew is a tax partner with Deloitte, a Chartered Accountant and a registered Tax Agent, bringing tax, financial and accounting knowledge to The Men’s Table.

Andrew is passionate about men’s mental health, and the need for men (particularly younger men) to feel unburdened in sharing their thoughts and life experiences.

David Pointon

Qualifications: B.Ed

David is Co-Founder and CEO of The Men’s Table.

Previously, David owned a management consultancy for 25 years, facilitating organisational change projects to large corporates, NGOs and Govt in education, banking & finance, insurance and other sectors. His career began as a school teacher, and he then went on to establish successful hospitality businesses in Cornwall, England, and in the French Alps.

David is also a Board member of the Australian Men’s Health Forum, and the Guild Theatre, a local amateur Theatre in Sydney. He is also Co-Chair of the NSPLSP Alliance hosted by Suicide Prevention Australia.

Robert Poynting

Qualifications: BBus, MBA

Robert joined the Board in August 2019 as a foundation member and was appointed as Chair. His most recent executive appointment was as Managing Director of Subway Development of NSW. He brings more than 30 years of commercial experience from senior roles in banking, finance, human resource management and training.

Robert was born in country NSW and has a deep passion for improving men’s mental health through our mission to deliver a community based recognized preventative solution; and he is also involved in building and operating low cost affordable housing. Robert is currently the President at Strathfield Golf Club.

Leonie Walton

Qualifications: BA PgDip MA

Leonie has dedicated the past 20 years to building brands and funding opportunities for not-for-profit organisations across a multiple of health issues, including breast cancer, stroke, and now eye health.

Leonie was at the forefront of cause-related marketing in Australia, helping to profile the pink ribbon device for breast cancer, and has raised tens of millions of dollars to support medical research.

She is committed to empowering for-purpose organisations and making charitable giving a part of everyday life for a better world for all of us to live in.

Gillian Hunt

Qualifications: BA Comms, FGIA, GAICD, MICDA

Gillian Hunt is the Board Secretariat for The Men’s Table supporting the Board and CEO through her consulting firm Boardium.

As well as being aligned with the work and mission of The Men’s Table, Gill brings a strong focus on governance, risk and compliance.

She is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia.

Finance Committee

Dean Sappey

Qualifications: Bachelor of Applied Science (Comp Sc), MAICD

Dean has forged a career in the IT industry, founding and growing two software companies in the legal and accounting industries. His most recent was as CEO and founder of DocsCorp, which provided software to over 5,000 law firms globally in 32 countries.

Since retirement, Dean was instrumental in establishing all the accounting systems and processes at Men’s Table to support its growth nationally. He is now spending time on outside interests while continuing to provide advice on the finance committee.

Risk and Audit Committee

The Risk and Audit Committee comprises both Nancy Campisi and David Pointon, as well as Dr. Robert Burdock and Prof. Michael Brydon below.

Dr. Robert Burdock

Qualifications: BBus, MBA, MApplSc, DipArts, PhD, GAICD

Rob is an operations professional with close to 40 years of experience working across the range of commercial, government, academic and not-for-profit sectors. His focus for nearly two decades has been to combine his business and academic background to promote positive outcomes for biodiversity, environmental and natural resource management.

He is the chair of the board of directors of Invertebrates Australia and earlier, as a non-executive director, he chaired the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee. For two years, Rob chaired the Men’s Table’s inaugural Risk Advisory Committee and is now a member of the refocused Risk and Audit Committee. He co-founded a table in early 2020 and is excited about how the Men’s Table is improving the lives of men, families and communities.

Prof. Michael Brydon

Qualifications: MBBS, M. Paeds, M. Health Administration, FRACP

Professor Brydon is a 40 yr trained paediatrician and senior health manager with significant Board and networking experience. He is currently working at the University of Notre Dame as the Associate Dean of its Rural Clinical School having been the Chief Executive of The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network between 2016 and 2019, an organisation he had been with since 1983.

Apart from his medical and management qualifications he has completed the Company Directors training.

He was awarded an OAM for services to children and social justice issues and is highly regarded for his advocacy for children, the social determinants of health and the importance of investing in the early years of a child’s life.

He brings significant leadership, governance, risk management and collaboration skills to the team.

Advisory Committee

Geoff Anderson

Geoff is a father to two, a step father to three and a husband to Kellie. He has a degree in Science but is not sure why. After a couple of winters in France being paid to ski, Geoff returned to Australia and started his own business.

He is one of the original members of MT1 since 2011 and also is with MT8 since 2019.

Geoff is the owner of Sonic Sight, a video production company based in Sydney. Since the beginning of The Men’s Table organisation in 2019, Geoff has been providing pro-bono video services to help spread the word about The Men’s Table and assists with the training content delivered by the Kitchen.

He has published two best selling books about video production and has at least one children’s book yet to be published.

Alex Mottee

Alex is a practicing clinical psychologist and director at AB Clinical Psychology based in Sydney. He was worked in the mental health sector within various settings including the NSW Health public hospital network for 10 years.

Alex has special interest in men’s health and has authored research in performance-based anxieties and psychopathy. Alex provides consultative, clinical input across settings such as ADF, NRL and community-based mental health services like Mission Australia.

The ethos of the Men’s Table is important to Alex. He is committed to providing support to men in need and envisages a future where men are able to connect openly and honestly.

Sam Manger

Dr Sam Manger is a clinical and academic General Practitioner and healthcare consultant with a focus on lifestyle and social determinants.

He is the Academic Lead of the Postgraduate Degrees in Lifestyle Medicine at James Cook University College of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as the Immediate Past-President of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

He is an Ambassador for the Federal Government initiative Equally Well Australia, Advisory Group Member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, host of The GP Show podcast for health professionals and was awarded the RACGP QLD GP of the Year in 2021.
